Eurojackpot’s Thousandth Draw Won By Swedish Player

The fifteenth Eurojackpot of 2026 was won in the most recent drawing on 20th October. It was the 1,000th Eurojackpot game to take place since the game was launched in 2012. The win also produced the 200th jackpot-winning ticket in the game's history, and exactly half of those 200 have gone to players in Germany.

The Drawing

The event that took place on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 unveiled numbers 5, 16, 32, 34, 38, and the Euro numbers 8 and 9. The winner snatched the top prize by matching all five main numbers plus the two Euro numbers, and now has claim to approximately €19,286,658, or kr215,971,996 in Swedish money.

This is remarkable as the Eurojackpot was won in Germany only a week earlier, when a player in North Rhine-Westphalia scooped the maximum €120 million jackpot on 13th October. This shows not only the frequency of these life-changing wins but the amazing speed at which a massive jackpot can build up. In just two draws, the jackpot went up by €9 million, from €10 million to €19.3 million.

Nobody won the second prize, but seven tickets matched all five main numbers to win €112,637.40 each, three of them in North Rhine-Westphalia. Across 19 participating European countries, there were over 542,000 winners in total, from total ticket sales of €32,513,906. The prize will now reset to its base amount of €10,000,000.

History

2026 has been a busy year so far, with two record-sized wins and many quick wins throughout the spring season. October alone has produced two jackpot wins, and jackpot wins have populated every month of the year so far, with the exception of September when no jackpots were won. The jackpot winning streak is consistent with changes that took place in 2022, when the jackpot cap went up to €120m and a Tuesday draw was added.

Eurojackpots in Sweden

The last time the Eurojackpot was won in Sweden was a little over a year ago, in August 2025, when a player in the Stockholm area won around €36 million. This is an incredible bit of luck for the Moder Svea, as it is its eleventh jackpot in the game. Nine tickets won outright and two shared prizes with players in other countries.

Swedish lottery officials have described the win as “Absolutely incredible”, and a great way to celebrate Eurojackpot's 1,000th draw. “Once again, we get to award a jackpot win at a completely unreasonable level – over 215 million kronor to a Swedish player. Now one of the year's most exciting conversations awaits.”

Ludvig Hällström has said, “A win of over 215 million kronor means a huge financial change. Therefore, it is important that the winner receives professional support and the right conditions for the future.”
