Eurojackpot’s top prize was finally won on Friday 6th July as two German players matched all the numbers drawn to bring a run of 14 rollovers to an end. The jackpot had been at its maximum value of €90 million since 25th May, but the wait for a winner is now over and the two lucky ticket holders have been congratulated after snapping up €45 million each.

Eurojackpot Results for Friday 6th July

The winning numbers on Friday were 2, 7, 24, 38 and 45, with Euro numbers 5 and 8. It quickly emerged that there were two winners of the jackpot, and that both had been sold in Germany. One of the entries was bought in Hesse, and the other in Saxony-Anhalt.

Eurojackpot chairman and WestLotto CEO Andreas Kötter said: “We are pleased that the €90 million jackpot remains in Germany. We wish the two new multimillionaires a sunny summer and many happy years with the Eurojackpot prize.”

The latest result strengthens Germany’s position as the most successful Eurojackpot country. There have been 27 German jackpot winners since the game was launched in 2012, way ahead of Finland (14) in second place.

Germany also dominated the second tier on Friday night, with 13 of the 24 players who matched five main numbers plus one Euro number. There were also five participants from Finland, two from Spain and one each from Croatia, Italy, Norway and Poland in the Match 5 + 1 tier. Each lucky ticket holder in this tier won €999,914.

The other prizes won on Friday night ranged from €7.50 for matching two main numbers and one Euro number, to €43,966 for those players in the Match 5 category. Go to the Eurojackpot Results page for more information, including a full prize breakdown.

Historic Run Comes To An End

The €90 million top prize had been won on four previous occasions, but never in the past had it stayed at its cap for such a long time. The first time it happened, a man from the Czech Republic won €90 million in May 2015. A German ticket holder also landed the maximum award in October 2016, before five players won €18 million each in January 2017. Most recently, a syndicate from Finland pocketed the lot on 2nd February this year.

When the jackpot reaches €90 million, it stays fixed at this amount until it is won. Any excess funds are diverted to the second tier, creating some huge prizes for players who match five main numbers and just one Euro number.

The jackpot will now reset to its minimum level of €90 million for next Friday’s draw. If you want to become the next big winner, you can take part online or visit an authorised retailer in any of the participating countries. Good luck!
