Eurojackpot created another big jackpot winner on Friday 28th June as a ticket holder from Germany landed the top prize, worth more than €18 million. With six months of the year now gone, the game has already given away millions of prizes in 2019 and has set new national records in a couple of countries.

Who Was The Latest Winner?

The latest winner bought their ticket in the German state of Bavaria and matched the numbers 18, 25, 26, 35 and 38, along with the Euro numbers 5 and 6. The jackpot had only been won a couple of weeks earlier, by a player from the Czech Republic who pocketed €55 million.

The second-biggest win on Friday 28th June also went to Germany, with a participant from the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein banking €1.6 million after matching five main numbers and one Euro number.

Winner Statistics

The latest winners became the 11th and 12th Eurojackpot millionaires of the year so far. Six of those have scooped the jackpot, while there have been 23 million winners in total across the 12 different prize tiers since the start of 2019.

The prize money for the year so far has added up to €600 million, with the bulk of the big wins coming in the past couple of months. The jackpot reached its €90 million cap on 10th May and was split between two players, before the two big wins in June.

Prize Money Throughout Europe

There have been 173 winners this year who have claimed prizes worth at least €100,000. Of these players, 77 have come from Germany, but every other participating country apart from Latvia has also had one big winner.

Denmark comes in second with 21 so far this year, ahead of Finland with 16 and Norway with 11. Poland, the latest country to join the lottery, has had six, including its first ever jackpot winner. The player, who won €45 million (zl 193 million), set a new national record for a lottery payout in Poland.

A Swedish player also became their country’s biggest winner, taking home €53 million (561 million kr) back in March. Following a record year in 2018, Eurojackpot is continuing to go from strength to strength and there have now been 217 millionaires in the game over the 380 draws since it launched in 2012.

The second half of the year is sure to provide more big winners throughout Europe, with 18 nations contributing to the prize pot. The jackpot starts at €10 million and regularly goes past €50 million, making it one of the biggest games in the world. The odds of winning the top prize are also better than other international games such as EuroMillions or the American multi-state lotteries Powerball and Mega Millions.

To play Eurojackpot, you just need to select five main numbers from 1 to 50, plus two additional Euro numbers from a separate set of 1 to 10. You can take part online or from authorised retailers in participating countries, and then check the Eurojackpot Results straight after every draw to see if you are a winner.
