German Player Wins €120 Million Eurojackpot Prize
A German ticket holder won a record-equalling €120 million in Tuesday night’s Eurojackpot draw, becoming the fifth player from the country to land the game’s maximum jackpot.
The jackpot had reached its €120 million cap a week earlier, on 6th October. As per the rules of the game, any funds that would have been added on top were instead diverted to the Match 5 + 1 Euro Number category, creating a huge prize pool for the second tier.
When this happens, it generates a surge of excitement across all participating countries and an increase in ticket sales. Eurojackpot fans were eagerly awaiting the results of the latest draw, held in Helsinki as usual, and the winning numbers were revealed to be 11, 17, 20, 22 and 35, with Euro numbers 4 and 8.
Out of the 37.6 million entries submitted for the draw, one player matched all the numbers to land €120 million. It was later announced that the winning ticket was sold in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The lucky winner now has three years to come forward and claim their money.
It is the ninth time in Eurojackpot history that a jackpot of €120 million has gone to a single winner. Germany has been the home of five of these winners, while Denmark has had two. Norway and the Czech Republic have also had one each.
As well as the jackpot winner, Tuesday’s draw produced more than 1.48 million other prizes, including seven participants in the Match 5 + 1 category who won €2.98 million. These winners came from Denmark, Finland, Germany (2), Norway, Poland and Sweden.
Go to the Eurojackpot Results page to find out more information about the draw, or to view more previous numbers. Alternatively, use the checker to help you discover whether you are a winner.
The jackpot will now reset to its starting value of €10 million for the next draw on Friday. You can pick up a ticket from an authorised retailer in any of the 19 participating countries, or choose your numbers online.
