One lucky German player made a small piece of history in the Eurojackpot draw on Friday 25th March by matching all five main numbers and both Euro numbers to land €76.7 million. The result sets a new record for the largest ever Eurojackpot prize scooped in Germany and is also the second biggest anywhere since the game was launched in 2012.

The winning numbers were 9, 10, 19, 20 and 35 with Euro numbers 3 and 4. The jackpot had not been won in the previous eight draws and another rollover could have seen the top prize reach its cap of €90 million, but the German participant who matched all seven numbers can now celebrate becoming their country’s biggest ever winner.

The winning ticket was bought in the Rhein-Sieg region near Cologne in the Nordrhein-Westfalen region of Germany, and the winner has yet to come forward. WestLotto spokesman Axel Weber has revealed that the winner entered just a single line, making it likely that it was one player on their own rather than a syndicate.

Apart from the jackpot winner, Friday’s draw was also memorable for lots of other players across the continent. Germany enjoyed by far the best night of all the participating countries, boasting four of the six ticket holders who matched five main numbers plus one Euro number to net €421,735 each. The other winners in this tier came from Slovakia and Sweden. Other prizes won on the night ranged from €7 for matching two main numbers plus one Euro number to €99,231 for matching five main numbers, and you can find a full prize breakdown in the Eurojackpot Results section.

The only time a larger jackpot has ever been won on Eurojackpot was on 15th May last year, when a single participant from the Czech Republic pocketed the maximum €90 million. The top prize will now reset to €10 million for the next draw on Friday 1st April, and you can snap up tickets online now from wherever you are in the world, or by popping into an authorised retailer in one of the participating countries. Good luck!
