A German Eurojackpot player won the €42.6 million jackpot on Friday 9th March, becoming the country’s latest success story in the pan-European lottery.

The ticket holder was unregistered and has yet to come forward, but lottery bosses confirmed he or she played their winning line in Neukölln, in the southeast of Berlin. On Friday night, they instantly became the German capital’s biggest ever Eurojackpot winner.

Eurojackpot Results

The winning Eurojackpot line was 15, 23, 28, 33 and 36, with Euro numbers 4 and 7.

It was a huge night for Germany, as the continent’s biggest country swept the board in the top three winning tiers. In addition to the jackpot winner, six of their compatriots won €317,860 for matching five main numbers and one Euro number, whilst a further six banked €112,186 for matching five main balls alone.

Take a look at the Eurojackpot Results page for the full prize breakdown from the draw, as well as details of the supplementary games from the different participating nations, such as Joker in Slovakia and Extra 6 in the Czech Republic.

Eurojackpot Winners

The lucky Berliner is the second jackpot winner of 2018, following a Finnish syndicate who matched the lottery’s biggest-ever payout of €90 million on Friday 9th February.

Last year was the most successful in terms of Eurojackpot top prize successes, with the jackpot being hit on 11 separate occasions by 17 players in 2017. The opening draw of the year was the first time that more than one player had matched all five main numbers and both Euro numbers on the same day. Three Germans, a Dane and a ticket holder from the Netherlands shared €90 million on Friday 6th January.

Eurojackpot Prize Claim

Friday’s winner has three years to claim their prize, according to Lotto Berlin rules. According to a spokesman for the company, there has only been one player who ever failed to pick up a jackpot prize in the lottery’s 30-year history.

Lotto Berlin does not offer financial advice to the winner, but encourages them to seek out independent help to ensure they make the most of their newfound fortune.
