A ticket holder from Slovakia has become the country’s first jackpot winner, pocketing a top prize of more than €58 million in the latest Eurojackpot draw on Friday 16th October.

The winning numbers were 5, 11, 35, 44 and 50, plus Euro numbers 4 and 10. There were over 995,000 tickets that won prizes, but only one that matched the full set of numbers.

One other player, from Poland, matched all five main numbers plus one of the Euro numbers to win more than €2.4 million (zl 11 million). Go to the Eurojackpot Results page for a full prize breakdown, showing all the winners from the 18 different participating countries.

Slovakia’s Biggest Win

The draw created a new record for Slovakia, ending a wait of almost five years for someone from the country to land Eurojackpot’s top prize.

Back in October 2015, Slovakia became the 17th nation to take part in the game, and officials from lottery operator TIPOS were delighted to see a player from the country strike it lucky.

“A fantastic jackpot fell in the Eurojackpot lottery,” said TIPOS spokesman Rastislav Čépe, adding that the winning ticket was sold in the Košice Region in the east of Slovakia. “The player relied on a random selection and their bet contained only one tip.”

The winner now has 35 days to come forward and claim their prize, and their identity will not be disclosed without their consent.

The previous record for the highest lottery payout in Slovakia was an €11 million win on the domestic Loto game.

Big Jackpot Wins in 2020

Eurojackpot’s top prize had rolled over for four consecutive draws prior to Slovakia’s big win on Friday night. The most recent jackpot win belonged to a Polish player who banked €21 million (zl 96 million) on 11th September.

There have been two occasions this year when the jackpot has reached its maximum of €90 million. It first happened in February, then again in May. Both times the top prize was won by a German player.

The jackpot for the next draw will be worth €10 million. Take part online or visit an authorised retailer in one of the participating countries.
