2026 is showing good fortunes for the Land of a Thousand Lakes, as Friday’s Eurojackpot draw was won by a woman in Helsinki, banking her a quarter of a hundred million euros.

The Eurojackpot has been a hugely popular and successful lottery since it launched in 2012. It has an estimated potential of 300 million players per draw, making the odds even more of an amazing feat to beat. But clearly, they’re not impossible.

The Helsinki resident, who is choosing to remain anonymous, now holds the fourth largest Eurojackpot ever won in Finland and also is the largest gambling win ever for a single person.

The Win

The main Eurojackpot winning numbers in Friday’s draw were 10, 15, 29, 34, and 38. The Euro Numbers, or Bonus Balls, were 2 and 9. There were four winners of Tier 2 (Match 5 numbers + 1 Euro Number), 11 winners of Tier 3 (Match 5 numbers), and many hundreds more winners of lower tiers. But only one winner of Tier 1, which required a match of 5 numbers and both Euro Numbers.

Discussing the win with news outlets, the anonymous winner says that she doesn’t think she fully understands yet how much she has won. “Maybe it will become clearer once the money is actually in my bank account.”

She also told lottery officials how overwhelmed she was when the results came in. “I could barely stay in my chair,” she said, adding that she could barely sleep afterwards.

What Will The Winner Do Now?

What do you do with almost €74 million? This winner is staying grounded. Quite literally. “Thank you,” she told officials. “Now I’m going outside to clear snow.”

She also indicated plans to renovate her home, stop working on public holidays, and even to hold off on celebrations. “If we're going to celebrate, then it's time for that later. Not yet.” This could be due to how she has a three-week waiting period to go through before she receives her win.

When Is the Next Eurojackpot Drawing?

The Eurojackpot takes place twice a week — one draw every Tuesday at 21:15 and another on Friday at 21:00 — giving you plenty of chances to take part and enjoy the odds. The best part is that the jackpot will always be at least €10 million, guaranteeing life changing winnings if you win in one of the top tiers.

You can play this lottery online or through a retailer, although we would recommend online as it provides easy access, and you can’t lose or damage an online ticket. If you choose to go with the physical ticket, be sure to keep it safe in case you get lucky!
