A Eurojackpot player from Denmark has won the joint-largest prize in the history of the game - €120 million - after their numbers proved to be a perfect match for the winning line on Tuesday 4th June.

The jackpot reached its €120 million limit after nobody won the €112 million draw on Friday night. It would have stayed at its jackpot cap for as long as it took for someone to match all the numbers, but it happened at the first time of asking after strong ticket sales across Europe.

The winning numbers for the record-equalling draw were 1, 3, 24, 43 and 49, with Euro numbers 2 and 4.

Additional funds that would normally have gone on top of the jackpot were instead diverted to the second prize, creating a fund of more than €15 million for the Match 5 +1 category.

There were two winners of this second prize on Tuesday night. Remarkably, they both came from Denmark too, giving the Scandinavian country all three of the biggest prizes on what has been described as an ‘unreal and completely phenomenal evening’ for Danish lottery operator Danske Spil.

Danish Delight

Denmark has a rich tradition in Eurojackpot, having also been the country where the first €120 million jackpot was won back in July 2022. The maximum jackpot had previously been €90 million, but it was increased by €30 million earlier in 2022.

The latest Danish win actually converted to a slightly higher amount, worth 760,818,030 kr compared to 759 million kr in 2022, and it has been revealed that the winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven on Østerbrogade 74, 2100 in Copenhagen.

The winner has one year to come forward and claim their prize, and Danske Spil officials have promised to give them expert support and advice.

Malene Mølgaard, CEO of Danske Spil, said: "It's awesome! For the second time, it is a Dane who runs with the maximum pool in the Eurojackpot, and again it is a historically high amount. It's a huge party day - or evening - here with us, just as I assume it is with the winner.

“It's absolutely crazy that a Dane has won more than DKK 750 million for the second time, and that once again here in Denmark we have grabbed the huge prize right in front of the noses of the other countries. We have been waiting anxiously for it to happen again, and it already succeeded just under two years after the last huge prize was won in Blåvand.

"Here at Danske Spil, we are always happy when Danes win in our lotteries. Like all our big winners, this winner will also be offered special advice, which will ensure a good start to the new life as a multi-millionaire. It can be a big upheaval to win so much money, and at Danske Spil we want to help new millionaires well on their way,"

The jackpot will now reset to €10 million for Friday night’s draw. You can play in any of the 19 participating countries or take part online.
