Eurojackpot fans across the continent will aim to become only the second jackpot winner of 2017 by landing tonight’s top prize of €44 million. The eight-figure sum has been growing ever since five players won a colossal €90 million jackpot on Friday 6th January, on a night that saw a record number of ticket holders claim the top prize.

Since the last jackpot win, more than 1.9 million players have claimed cash awards, but no single player has been able to match the seven numbers required to claim the top prize. The jackpot cap has twice been triggered in the space of three months, meaning that another record-equalling total could be heading the way of ticket holders very soon. This looks even more likely given that four of the five highest prize amounts in the game's history have occurred in the past year.

So which numbers does a player have to pick in order to secure the coveted Eurojackpot top prize? Currently, the most common numbers drawn are 39 (19 appearances), 1 and 19 (both 18 appearances), while 3 (33), 9 (30) and 5 (29) are the Euro numbers that have seen the most action since the game's debut in March 2012. At the other end of the spectrum, 17 (7), 48 and 45 (both 9) have been drawn the least  number of times, with 7 (16), 2 and 10 (both 20) trailing when it comes to Euro number selection.

Statistics reveal that opting for a mix of even and odd numbers can also help. A total of 159 draws have featured a 3:2 mix of both numbers sets, compared to just 98 when odds or evens have dominated proceedings. The same applies when it comes to Euro number selection. On 134 occasions, one odd number and one even number have been draw, while just 121 draws have seen like numbers randomly dispensed. Of course, all Eurojackpot results occur completely at random, so there is no correct technique for selecting those all-important winning digits. Some people rely on intuition or selecting numbers that correspond to significant dates, while others will simply trust the quick pick system.

However you chose to select your numbers, tickets for tonight’s €44 million jackpot draw are available to buy online or from any authorised retailer in participating countries. Best of luck!
