Bavarian Eurojackpot Winner Claims €18 Million Prize
It has been revealed that a man from Upper Franconia in Germany won Eurojackpot’s top prize on 28th June, after he finally came forward to claim his money. The lucky winner is now more than €18 million richer but does not want his life to change too much.
The winning numbers on 28th June were 18, 25, 26, 35 and 38, along with Euro numbers 5 and 6. It was quickly announced that there was only one winning ticket, sold in Bavaria, from across all 18 participating nations.
However, the winner did not make contact with lottery officials for three weeks as he had no idea about his windfall. It was only when he wanted to play again that he checked the previous results and found that he had suddenly become a multimillionaire.
The man’s full identity has not been disclosed, but he is 40 years old and unmarried, and does not have any major plans yet for how to spend his winnings. He says ‘everything will stay the same’ and he will carry on going to work, keeping his opinions to himself and enjoying a simple life.
Big Eurojackpot Winners
He is the second-biggest winner to ever come from Bavaria, behind a player who won €22 million in February 2017. The record for the largest Eurojackpot prize to have been won anywhere is €90 million.
It may not be too long before the jackpot gets back up to its €90 million maximum, as it has now rolled over four times since the lucky Bavarian’s big win. The top prize stands at €48 million going into the next draw on Friday 2nd August.
Even if you miss out on the jackpot, there are 12 ways to win in every draw and the overall odds of winning are 1 in 26. Hundreds of thousands of players pick up prizes every Friday night, and every single line of numbers has an equal chance of landing the big jackpot.
To give yourself a chance of winning, just buy a ticket from any lottery retailer in a participating country or take part online. You can then view the Eurojackpot Results straight after the draw to see if you’re a winner.
