€90 Million Eurojackpot Top Prize On Offer For Fourth Consecutive Draw

€90 Million Eurojackpot Top Prize On Offer For Fourth Consecutive Draw
Monday 11th June 2018 11:54 AM

The top prize available in this week’s Eurojackpot draw remains at €90 million for the fourth consecutive time after yet another rollover on Friday evening. It’s the first time in the lottery’s history that the jackpot cap has remained in place for four successive draws.

Jackpot Cap Remains In Place

The winning numbers on Friday 8th June were 5, 13, 22, 36 and 39, alongside the Euro numbers 9 and 10. There were a total of 1,465,411 winners on the night across all eighteen participating countries, including five tickets which took home €4.7 million each after matching all five main numbers and one Euro number.

Although all five tickets were just one Euro number away from landing the incredible jackpot, the prize fund for the second prize tier was worth over €20 million, much higher than normal now that the jackpot cap is in place. Four of the five winning Match 5 +1 tickets were from Germany, bought in the regions of Spree-Neisse, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate. A winning Hungarian ticket completes the lucky quintet.

Eight-Figure Top Prize Still To Be Won

The Eurojackpot top prize hasn’t been won in eleven draws and was last claimed on 23rd March by a Norwegian woman who landed €17.4 million. The jackpot rose steadily since then until it met its €90 million jackpot cap, which has remained in place for the past three draws.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 95,344,200, compared to much more favourable odds of 1 in 5,959,013 in the second prize tier. The staggering €90 million top prize may not be claimed again in this Friday’s draw, but millionaires could still be created for correctly matching five main numbers and one Euro number. The exact prize amounts are not known yet because they’re based on the number of tickets that have been sold, but the jackpot will stay at its current amount until it has been won.

The top Eurojackpot prize has previously been won four times after reaching the jackpot cap: in May 2015, October 2016, January 2017, and most recently in February 2018 when a five-person Finnish syndicate scooped the jackpot. The winning ticket was bought at the Prismassa supermarket in the south-west region of Loimaa.
