Will the €90 Million Eurojackpot Top Prize Finally Be Won This Friday?
Tuesday 26th June 2018 10:59 AM

The top prize available in Eurojackpot remains at its maximum €90 million ahead of the draw on 29th June. The jackpot cap has been in place for the past five weeks, and the top prize hasn’t been won for the past 13 draws. Will this Friday see this historic run of rollovers finally come to an end?

Several Players Close To Landing Jackpot

Eurojackpot players from all 18 participating countries have come desperately closing to landing the eight-figure windfall in recent draws, including 11 ticket holders who matched all five numbers and one Euro Number on Friday 22nd June. Eight ticket holders from Germany and one apiece from Finland, Slovenia and Sweden were all just one Euro Number away from landing the €90 million, but narrowly missed out on become the lottery’s joint-biggest winners of all time.

There is no limit to the number of times the Eurojackpot top prize can rollover, so €90 million will still be available in the following draw if it isn’t won this Friday. However, because of the jackpot cap, the top prize cannot exceed €90 million, so any extra prize money is given to the second Match 5 and 1 Euro Number prize tier. This is the fifth time in Eurojackpot history the jackpot cap has been reached, but it hasn’t ever rolled over for six draws before.

The €90 million top prize has previously been won on multiple occasions, most recently on February 9th when a Finnish syndicate scooped the jackpot. Other jackpot cap wins include a single ticket holder from the Black Forest, Germany, who won the maximum amount in October 2016, and the occasion in January 2017 when when five ticket holders – three from Germany, one from Denmark and one from the Netherlands - received €18 million each, sharing the jackpot for the first time in the game’s history.
