The latest Eurojackpot draw on Friday 18th May came and went without anyone winning the  €79.7 million top prize. The jackpot will now climb to its maximum amount of €90 million for the next game.

Eurojackpot Results for Friday 18th May

The winning line on Friday 18th May was 1, 11, 23, 41 and 44, with Euro numbers 2 and 8. Four players - two from Finland, one from the Netherlands and one from Spain - matched all five main balls and one Euro number to win €632,321 each.

Another seven players - three from Germany and one each from Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland and Hungary - matched the five main numbers to pocket €127,527 each. The other prizes won on Friday spanned from €8 for players in the Match 2 + 1 tier to €4,959 for participants in the Match 4 + 2 category.

Jackpot Cap Comes Into Play For Second Time This Year

The jackpot for the next draw is set to hit its cap of €90 million. Any additional funds will be put into the prize fund for the Match 5 + 1 tier, making it possible that anyone who just misses out on the top award will receive a larger payout than would usually be the case.

Eurojackpot last got up to its €90 million maximum earlier this year on 2nd February. Nobody matched the full winning line on the night, so the top prize stayed at its cap for the next draw. A Finnish syndicate scooped the lot on 9th February, but only came forward recently to collect the money.

How Long Can the Jackpot Stay at €90 million?

The jackpot can stay at €90 million until it gets won, with extra funds always going down to the next prize tier. In theory this means that months could pass without a big winner, but there is an increased level of participation when the top prize is large and rollovers become less likely.

Eurojackpot has now reached €90 million for the fifth time since the game was launched. It first happened in May 2015 when a man from the Czech Republic matched all seven numbers to become the lottery’s biggest winner. A German ticket holder also scooped the maximum award on 14th October 2016, before five participants split €90 million on 6th January 2017 and then the Finnish syndicate struck lucky this year.

You could become the next €90 million winner on Friday night if you take part in the game. Visit an authorised retailer in any of the 18 participating countries or choose numbers online now.
