A German Eurojackpot ticket holder banked €49.6 million in the draw on Friday 1st January after matching all five main balls and two Euro numbers. The top prize had been rolling since Friday 13th November, when one of the latest winner’s compatriots pocketed €32.6 million. Germany is now leading the way in terms of jackpot wins for the participating Eurojackpot nations, with ten successes to second placed Finland’s eight. Denmark and Slovenia trail in third, with two jackpot winners each.

The Eurojackpot results for 1st January were 11, 14, 35, 44 and 45 with Euro numbers 5 and 6 and other prizes snapped up on the night ranged from €8 for matching two main numbers and one Euro number to €423,474 for the three German players and one ticket holder from Finland who matched five main balls and one Euro number.
