Germany’s run of success on Eurojackpot continued on Friday 8th January as two players from the country claimed over half a million euros each, though the jackpot went unclaimed. One ticket holder from Germany had scooped the €49.6 million jackpot in the previous draw on New Year’s Day, and the top prize will now climb to €14 million after rolling over this past Friday.

The numbers drawn on Friday were 1, 2, 5, 24 and 47 with Euro numbers 3 and 8. While nobody could pocket the top prize, the two big winners from Germany both matched five main numbers plus one Euro number to land €514,927 each. One of the lucky players bought their ticket in Baden-Württemberg, while the other came from Lower Saxony.

There were also two players from Denmark in the next winning winning tier, who matched five main numbers to earn €181,739 each. There were over 500,000 other prize winners across the continent, snapping up cash rewards ranging from €7.50 in the bottom two prize tiers up to €4,487 for matching four main numbers plus two Euro numbers. The player who won the €49.6 million jackpot a week earlier has already come forward to claim their prize. It has emerged that the winner was a man from the Cologne area who only played the game occasionally, and entered Friday’s game spontaneously after passing by a retailer.
