A Eurojackpot player from Denmark is set to receive an incredible €23.4 million (Kr.148.1 million) after winning the game’s top prize in Friday’s draw. The lucky ticket holder correctly matched the numbers 1, 14, 17, 24, 50 and the two Euro numbers 8 and 9 to land the sizeable sum and end a run of two rollovers.

Eurojackpot Delight for Denmark

The winning ticket was purchased from the Spar Store in Skallerup, near Hjørring, however, the winner, who hails from North Jutland, has opted to remain anonymous. Eurojackpot fans have not had to wait long for this win, with the last jackpot (€41.5 million) being claimed by a Finnish ticket holder just three weeks earlier.

This is the second time this year a Danish player has scooped the jackpot, following an €18 million (Kr. 114 million) win for Leif and Aase Sommer who collected one fifth of a €90 million prize in January.

In total, there have been four Danish jackpot winners, with the biggest prize to date being claimed by a mother from Helsingør back in 2015. The 47-year-old victor correctly matched all five main numbers and both Euro numbers to claim Kr. 315 million.

The Eurojackpot Draw

Friday’s draw also provided plenty of success for ticket holders across the continent, with three players - from Spain and Bavaria and Hamburg in Germany - each winning €919,573 after matching five main numbers and one Euro number. Two further players correctly predicted five numbers to land €251,545, while an additional 37 participants secured €4,532 in the Match 4 + 2 prize tier.

In total, the draw produced 588,252 prize winners, with the remaining rewards ranging from €8.10 for players who were able to match two main numbers and one Euro number to €277 for ticket holders who correctly matched four main numbers and one Euro number.
